Frequently Asked Questions

What language do you speak?

Both our MC and DJ speak Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin & Toisanese) and English.

When should I book the MC/DJ?

September and October are the most popular months for weddings. If your wedding is in one of those months, try booking the services earlier in order to secure the date as soon as you can. Most people start booking their services 9 months to a year ahead of time.

What are the steps of planning?

There are many online checklists and tools you can start with. Normally you need to set the dates, and book a Venue, MC, DJ, Makeup artist, Photographer, Videographer, Decoration and Florist, etc. There is no one-stop shop for all because everyone has their own preferences. However, we do have a list of preferred Vendors that we can refer to you.

How do I book your MC/DJ services?

Please go to the Contact Us page where all our contact information is. We can initiate either a phone meeting or an in-person meeting to go over your options and concerns. Once you have decided to go with us, a security deposit with a signed contract will secure your date.

What are the payment options?

We accept Cash, Venmo, Check, and Zelle. Please contact us for detailed payment instructions.

Can we change our upgrade options later?

Yes, we are flexible on optional services. Let’s communicate throughout the process. We recommend finalizing all the services and options 7 days before your date to confirm the equipment is available.

Are you on social media?

Yes, we are. We post many wedding photos and videos on Facebook. Please feel free to check those out by clicking on the social media icons located on the bottom of this page.

How do you handle songs or games request from guests?

We normally go over all these options beforehand and should have an agreement in the meeting before your wedding. For example, we could discuss what kind of songs or games you would like to avoid, and we will not have those on our list.

What are the music options?

We normally play 50% Chinese and 50% English songs during the wedding if you don’t have any preferences. Remember that it is your wedding, so feel free to send us a list of songs/genres that you would or would not like to hear on your big day.

How would you define your “style”?

Our service’s “Style” is based on your preferences. Some like apples and some like oranges. Your dance floor will be packed with either the perfect songs the DJ selected and mixed or with the MC playing interactive games with the guests.

Will you travel or only do weddings in Boston?

We do most of our weddings in the greater Boston area, but we also do weddings in the New England area. However, we like to keep the range within a 2-hour drive from Boston, to ensure great energy for your wedding.

What is MK Wedding Entertainment stand for?

Our children, Matthew and Kayla, said the MK stands for Macaroni Kangaroo.
